Piano legend George Shearing who wrote the jazz hit “Lullaby Of Birdland” returned to the club that propelled him to superstar status for this live recording. Shearing’s inspired piano playing and inventive arrangements are both on display as he performs compositions by Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Kurt Weill, Erroll Garner and Clifford Brown and, of course, a new interpretation his own classic in the club that was its inspiration.
