The Beethoven cycle that Karajan recorded with the Philharmonia Orchestra between 1951 and 1955 was the first of the four complete cycles that he recorded during his lifetime and is generally considered to be the best. This is the stereo version of the ‘Ninth Symphony’, taken from original tapes and remastered in 2014.
