The impressive and breathtaking scenery of the wild-romantic Roman quarry of St. Margarethen provides the perfect and unique backdrop for these live-recording of a colourful open-air staging of Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida. These staging of Verdi’s most famous opera is a festival for all the senses. Verdi’s “grand opera” needs of course monumental elements: horses, elephants and more than 400 participants as well as spectacular lighting effects and pyrotechnics take part in the triumphal march at the end of the second act.
