The violinist Gabriela Demeterová, who earned international recognition with recordings of music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries (Biber, Bach), the big works of the violin repertoire of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries (Dvořák, Suk), and as an exceptional chamber music player in the recordings of the piano trio repertoire (Smetana, Dvořák) and clarinet trio repertoire (Milhaud, BartÓk, Stravinsky, Khachaturian), is an artist who continuously attempts to broaden her horizons. In the pastyears she began to systematically devote herself to viola playing. As a result of this interest a unique project emerged. Gabriela Demeterová was the first and only performer to record both parts of the 6 Duets for Violin and Viola by Carl Stamitz. Listeners can now become familiar with an exquisite result made possible by this exceptionally difficult method of recording.
