Freiburger Barockorchester
Gottfried von der Goltz – Conductor
Petra Müllejans – Conductor
The concerto genre gave Handel an opportunity to reuse material from his choral works by presenting ‘transcriptions’ enriched with multiple effects. The contrasts of timbre, volume and colour between the strings and the two cori of wind instruments add a highly theatrical dimension that forms the basis of this interpretation by the Freiburger Barockorchester. This music is immediately attractive and immensely lively.
